ISC2 Ottawa Chapter March Networking Event

Please join your fellow ISC2 members and other local Cybersecurity enthusiasts to join us in person at Beyond the Pale Brewery on their upstairs mezzanine.

Note: this is not a catered event, but food and drinks will be available for order much the same as we have done in the past. We especially invite ISC2 Members and CC seekers and all cybersecurity enthusiasts to come out and meet your 2023 Board and discuss ideas for 2024.

At our meeting we'll have some chapter announcements and provide some updates and ideas from the board as well as from the ISC2 Association. We'll start at 6:30PM and open our meeting and welcome and leave plenty of time for networking.

At this meeting we're fortunate to have a speaker: Andrew Amaro from Klavan Security.

At little about our speaker:

Andrew Amaro is an exceptional engineer with a distinguished background as a former member of the Canadian Armed Forces. Possessing over 20 years of extensive expertise in security and threat intelligence, he boasts an extraordinary professional journey.

Having served as a Technical Operations Agent and Senior Manager of the Counter Terrorism\Proliferation Technology Group at the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS), Andrew continued to demonstrate exceptional proficiency in his security career at the National Headquarters (NHQ) and the Ottawa Regional office. He played a pivotal role in leading and coordinating technical teams involved in data exploitation, physical access, online anonymity, and digital surveillance operations, all in support of Canadian national security investigations.

In 2019, Andrew made a transition to the private sector, where he has established himself as a specialist in various domains including social engineering, dark web navigation, online privacy, risk management, and cyber attack incident response planning. With more than 20 years of experience, Andrew is a highly seasoned professional in both physical and cyber security operations. He offers invaluable insights and serves as a trusted advisor and consultant. In recent years he collaborated with other industry experts from the Intelligence and Cyber Security community to establish KlavanSecurity.com.

We look forward to meeting you and please suggest you invite any friends or colleagues who might be interested in participating as this is a free event.
